Late opening

On Friday, March 4, the Library is hosting an event for area legislators and librarians. The library will open at 12:00 for the day. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please use the book drop to return materials while the Library is closed. Thank you.

Website updates! Free Prep tests!

We've rearranged our home page to highlight some of the services at the library. If you need a reference question answered at 2:00 in the morning, be sure to click on the MassAnswers icon! Librarians are at your service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And speaking of things that are available at all times, we've added some new links to our Online Resoures page. Thanks to the Forbes Library in Northampton for their list of local authors (added to the Books and Reading section), and if you are studying for your SAT, GRE, GED, ASVAB, LSAT, MCAT, or almost any other test you can think of, scroll down to the Education and Financial Aid section of the page and click on the link to Test Prep Review. This site offers free practice tests and test preparation.

Enjoy the site, and please keep checking our blog for What's New at the library!

Amazon Wish List

With the success of our Adopt-a-Magazine program, the library has started a Wish List at Amazon.com. On the wish list are items we'd like to have in the collection, but may not be able to purchase because of budget constraints.

If you would like to see what is on our wish list, either click on the link on our home page or go to Amazon.com. If you go to Amazon's home page, click on Wish List at the top of the page. At Find a Wish List, enter Greenfield Library, then click the GO! button. Our list should pop up within seconds. Any items you purchase at Amazon will be shipped directly to the library and will be removed from the list.

The library thanks our patrons for their past and continuing support.

Direct Virtual Catalog Link

For those of you who are enjoying the Virtual Catalog, give this a try.

There is now a direct link to the catalog, so you can bypass going through the GPL-C/W MARS catalog. For Western Region patrons, use this link:

http://www.cwmars.org/vcat/wvirtcat.html

Enter your library card number and select Greenfield as your pickup location (or another library if you go there more often), and you are off and running!

Central Region patrons can use this link for the same great service:

http://www.cwmars.org/vcat/cvirtcat.html

One note about the Virtual Catalog: It is slow. Because it is looking at the catalogs for most of the libraries in MA, it takes time to search. Just be patient. It's worth the wait.
